How to Change the Server Version

Changing your server's version is a way to access new features, fix bugs, or ensure compatibility with certain mods and plugins. Follow these steps to perform the change safely.

Step 1: Access the Versions section

  1. Log in to the XeroHost control panel: https://panel.xerohost.net
  2. Select the Minecraft server you want to configure.
  3. In the left menu, go to the "Versions" section.
  4. This section will show you the different versions and server types available, such as Vanilla, Paper, Spigot, and others.

Step 2: Choose the server type and version

  1. Select the server type you want to install (for example, Paper).
  2. Next, all available versions will be displayed. Choose the one you want by clicking on it.

Step 3: Install the new version

Once you choose the version, a confirmation window will appear with two important options:

  1. Wipe Server Files:

Warning: If you enable this option, all of your current server files will be **deleted**. If you want to keep anything (like maps or mods/plugins), be sure to make a backup before continuing.

  2. Accept EULA:

You must check this box to confirm that you have read and accept the Minecraft EULA (End-User License Agreement), which is a requirement to run the server.

Step 4: Confirm the installation

  1. Once you have selected the desired options, click the Install button.
  2. The panel will begin installing the new version. This process may take a few seconds or minutes.
  3. When it's finished, you can start your server with the new version.
